The Mint 400 Sets the Heart Racing

One of the great things about Las Vegas is the abundance of activities to get your heart racing. You’ve got gambling, shows, football, baseball, and racing. While you’re staying at the Las Vegas RV Resort, the Mint 400 occurs in early March. This gives you a chance to catch a great off-road racing event!

The Mint 400- Getting to the Heart of the Race

The Mint 400 was established in 1967 by Norm Johnson as a way to promote The Mint Hotel. The race was two dune buggies going across 600 miles of desert. The race went on until 1989 when the new owner decided the race wasn’t good for his casinos.

Twenty years passed until General Tire along with the Southern Nevada Off-Road Enthusiasts group reinvigorated it. This 400-mile race is one of the largest off-road races in the world with 323 teams.
